This month’s Family Resources e-newsletter: Practicing practice

Eckhardt Headshot CroppedHaving spent five years in music school, practice is near to my heart. However, it remains a struggle and a skill that I continually, well, practice. I remember getting frustrated with beginning counseling techniques during my first class, and then realized that, of course, it would take deliberate practicing to catch on, just like any other skill.

My husband and I are musicians and know lots of musicians. Musicians often practice better than most people, but even many musicians struggle with deliberate, mindful practice. No matter what new skill you’re learning, good practice can really help. Read on over at the Family Resources of Greater Nebraska e-Newsletter for more ideas on how to improve your practice!
